 I had first joined this group as 'Amanda Channing' which is my pen name but now I just changed it to join as Kris McConville which is my real name. Makes things easier. So Kimberly as moderator you'll see me twice.

 Anyhow, I wrote a manuscript based on the YR characters that was set in 2010 but the characters had only aged about 20 years. While writing the manuscript I knew that I had to get permission from the copyright holder to use the characters. I'm also a lawyer as well as a writer. I contacted Warner Brothers who holds the copyright for the YR characters, theme song and scripts for the shows. I was told absolutely NO!!! they would not give me permission to use the characters in any novel.

So Kimberly before you try to publish your YR/SH book make sure you have contacted the copyright holder for S&H and good luck with Warner Bros.

As for fan fic - I don't know of any - Kimberly you said you saw some stories out there - can you tell me where and what author's name was because I'd really like to try and get in touch with them -- since I had such problems with Warner Bros. I'd like to warn them if they are trying to publish any fan fic - they need permission. Or see if they somehow got permission and how they did when I couldn't. hmm

 As an aside, I got into the YR back when it first aired because I had a crush on Tom Schanley (David Soul's son) and I've followed his career over the years. Now 28 years later, I work for his publicist and am the administrator of his FB fan page. If anyone is interested in him - let me know since I get the inside scope. It is kind of ironic the one actor I"ve always had a crush on -- I work with/for him in a round about way - karma

 I too was very saddened by the early demise of Edward Albert (Quisto). He died from cancer way before his time. He was a wonderful actor who I lost track off after he was on Falcon Crest.
