Re: Cult over content/Eureka
- i realy like the new o'rourke cd, though i think that as a pop cd it isn't that brilliant. eureka is just as exprerimental as previous o'rourke cd's. as allways, o'rourke explores the basic units of music, fascinated at how they come to get their impact. until 94 he dealt with sounds, instruments, studio, and the basic situation of playing. then he expended to tradition (captured in his bad timing cd), now exploring pop songs.
bottomline: if people who liked him before still enjoy eureka, it shouldn't come as surprise.
but still, to be honest, i am kinda cultist.
for anyone interested in recent POP-o'rourke, hear him (and grubbs) on the new stephen prina (red krayola) cd. great pop. realy.
