[1] Unreleased single that was my top single for 2005 <www.tedmilton.net>.

[3]"Let There Be Blurt: The Best of Blurt vol. 2" on Salamander

[4] Lil Wally roots polka grindcore done loving butcher fashion.
      Wreck DJ gig intro song.
[5] Other supreme white funkster who has ridden on the NY attitude
and reputation for a long time. This was exemplified by his
indifferent and incredibly truncated NY appearances. Did he really
play once for 23 minutes after we'd waited 2.5 hours to see him. No
encore. but has evolved into a kind of rougher edged carpetbagger
than Paul Simon or David Byrne in the search for genuine soul and
      roots.
[6] "Mickey Mouse's birthday being announced on the news as if its an
actual event. I don't give a shit. If I cared about Mickey Mouse's
birthday I'd have memorized it years ago. And I'd send him a card:
'Dear Mickey, happy birthday.' I don't do that. Why? I don't give a
      shit."
[7] TM is interested in the poetic works of Daniil Kharms (Daniil
Ivanovich Yuvachev, 1905-1942), a Russian poet and absurd literature
writer of the 1930s. He was arrested in 1941 on false charges, was
"determined" to be insane and died of maltreatment and starvation in
a psychiatric ward as St. Petersburg was besieged by the Nazis.
[8] TM communes with the ambience of a Bahnhof.
[9] "Celebrating the Bespoke Cell of Little-Ease"
<www.tedmilton.co.uk>. Blurt 25 years on remains an amazingly
efficient unit producing some of the most dynamic chord crunching
avant-garde post punk jazz this side of the solar system. I met up
with TM [sounds like a mantra trademark] in London on a recent visit
and he gave me a very nice personal hand-crafted version of this CD,
which includes some of the most dynamic and in-flight near ecstasy
head bang rhythms around. Some inspired extemporaneous poesie as
well. Had Dylan Thomas fronted a jazz combo, he may have sounded like
this. One can only dream of what TM would have done with Leon Thomas.:

o Meanwhile: months have gone by and so much has happened
[decomposed]. The Dutch government fell but no one even heard the
thunk of ministers collapsing to their dull knees. This current
regime has done more to undo humanity within Dutch borders than even
the most hate-mongering Imam [luckily not YOUR mom]. If this is as
far right as the Dutch have ever veered in this century why does it
seem they are still more reasonable and 'liberal' than the american
government? That is scary. Having basically demonized and
marginalized the poor, the unemployed, the foreigner, the unhealthy,
the current government STILL can't balance the budget. The weird
almost universal phenomenon is this: when the economy goes sour, why
do the citizens of whatever country always believe the conservatives
/ republicans / tories / whatever other reptiles are better at
handling the till? To blame politicians in UK, France, US, NL,
wherever else we have embarrassing representatives in office is a
little like flushing the toilet before you have taken a shit. Or
something like that. The citizens in each land DO bear some
responsibility for the governments they choose be it Lebanon
[supporting hezbollah], Israel [voting in liklud and other
neo-fascists], US [Bush and cabal] and allowing them the room [the
excuse but also often the mandate] to do their work in the empty
      square of complacency.

yes. very interesting and WAY too complicated to try to explain to
foreigners / americans etc. verdonk vvd [almost fascist] wants to
look upright and even-handed in her horrible dealings with asylum
seekers by using the same harsh criteria on fellow cabal-member and
parliamentarian ayan hirsi ali. she is forced to do so because she
wants to be known as consequent and straight and narrow and thus
unnuanced [bush-like]. this forces her to take an immediately
unpopular position - hirsi ali lied and so cannot be dutch or a
parlementarian. she is forced to recant basically and comes out under
pressure FOR hirsi holding on to her dutch nationality despite lies
that hirsi admits telling in the process. which makes verdonk an
instant hypocrit. and shows how 'inconsequnet' and truly unclear her
      vision really is.

hirsi ali, black african refugee and naturalised, on the other hand
is no angel, hero, or innocent either. here is a former pvda [labor]
member who stepped over to verdonk's get-tough on foreigners party.
she has, as you know, come down rightly so on the side of moslim
women as victims of moslim traditions. free the moslim women. BUT her
manner and the angle that she is coming from does nothing but
stigmatize the issue and ultimately she hinders womens lib progress.
she is very telegenic and very articulate and seemingly smart BUT she
cannot fathom the cognitive dissonance of her position in the vvd and
her progressive side. FOR women as victims AGAINST women as asylum
seekers - a very tautological position.

she probably believes like me that religion or the way people
interpret their religions must take a large part of the blame for the
middle east, kashmir, ad nauseum... BUT she is not nuanced enough to
go even-handed when it comes to religions. this would have helped her
cause immensely with muslims if she were to be as critical of
fundamentalist christians or orthodox jews or doctrinaire hindus but
she kept her criticism exclusively to muslims. bad strategy.

ultimately, she showed her true colors by taking a job at the neo-con
think tank, american heritage institute, which only further
undermines her veracity. in debates with leftist [muslim] women and
from groen links etc. she often did not DO that well and assumed her
fame and telegenic prowess would get her thru. now she is in the den
of wolves [disguised in wolves clothing] among the cheneys etc. where
she feels no doubt frighteningly comfortable. and that they [american
heritage institute] have embraced her as a freedom fighter or
whatever just shows this is my humble stix and stones quick fix
version. she will now make a film about anti-homo muslims at an
      anti-homo institute...

o Blurt were in fine form in May in the early part of their first of
many last Blurt Euro-tours, working like a buzzsaw through the entire
catalog of punk-funk and beyond. Milton, sounding like a slivery
white host on the end of James Brown's tongue, managed to give lots
of electric tools some competition. How does soul work within
mesmerizing monotony, brilliant guitar work, and drums that pounded
dull divets into your chest. It all has to do with passion,
inspiration converted into something not quite palatable, not quite
spirits/whiskey, not quite an aftertaste, not quite a musical style
you want to give a name [its too dodgy] but at least a ring in your
ears that reminds you, you got to mention how brilliant the night was
when you wake up. You stand there in the club in all your pleated or
permapress or wrinkled presumption, in all your arrogance-acruing
experience and Blurt, Milton's lyrics, his conniption howls, the
sinister and incisive guitars etc. take you apart piece by piece like
you are nothing but a big fleshy teetering Lego construct. You end up
by the end of the night ankle high, verily oozing out the club's
front door, thankful that you have been reduced to electrocuted
protoplasm. A Blurt concert then is like a complete makeover: hair,
shirt, body, mind, heart. And somehow Blurt continues to be able to
evoke the past without a hint of dust or rust, are able to sound new,
lean, updated without a hint of trend-mongering are able to
ezperiment, improvise, taunt, babble on with the whiskey and still
come out of it a familiarly strange kettle of fish, elusive gearwork
to a watch with no hands, alluding to Dada without ever invoking any
      gods of chaos. Timeless.

Notes on other Patapoe audionauts & nuts:
