      DESIGN MUSEUM DISPLAYS THE WIRE

The Wire is currently on show at The Design Museum in London, as part
of its 'Under A Tenner' exhibition. The Design Museum invited fourteen
people with different perspectives on design to choose ten examples -
as long as they were all available under £10 - which represented their
idea of "good design". Dutch graphic design company Experimental Jetset
picked The Wire (designed by Non-Format) because "The Wire is an
intelligent, inspirational thoroughly honest music magazine. In both
design and content, the reader is taken seriously without a trace of
cynicism". As well as issues #245 (July) and #249 (November) the
exhibition also features a cardboard toilet, a Bic biro and a Brazilian
flip flop amongst other exhibits. Until 27 February 2005, Design
Museum, Shad Thames, London, SE1, £6 (£4 conc).

      GIVE US A PLUG

There is still time to vote for The Wire in this year's PLUG
Independent Music Awards. We've been nominated in the Magazine Of The
Year category. In making the nomination, PLUG said: "Tremendous support
for The Wire from the independent community - for the role you all play
and for the contribution you've made to raising the voice of
independent music this year." PLUG is a collection of writers, DJs,
webmasters, artists, filmmakers, managers, retailers, and punters drawn
from across the independent music community, who gather together each
year to celebrate the artists who live and flourish in the margins.
Anyone is eligible to vote in the awards. The full list of this year's
nominees as well as details of how to vote can be found on their
      website http://www.plugawards.com
