SHORTWAVE TAKES UP RESIDENCE AT 93 FEET EAST
      Sunday 30th May 2004
      4pm till 10:30pm

Multi-media award winner Shortwave is to unleash its distinctive
blend of sights and sounds on 93ft East, Brick Lane with a free gig
on Sunday 30 May. The party celebrating the gang's new residency at
the top venue coincides with their fifth birthday and the bash will
include short films from emerging talent, DJ's, and a live PA from
      Transcargo.

The party will also play host to the premier of 'The Search for
Shangri-La', a documentary giving an insider's account of Tribal
Gathering. In the early 90s clubbers and crusties came together and
danced like demons at unofficial outdoor raves- there was nothing
else like it and changes in the law mean we'll never see their like
      again.

Interviews with legendary DJ Derrick May, promoter Paul Shurey,
ravers and journalists make this an unforgettable journey into the
      heart of Acid House history.

Live music comes in the shape of Transcargo who's debut album
'Idle Luxury' is about to be released on Trunk records (24 May 2004).
Lead singer Emily's high-kickin' antics drove the crowd wild at their
last 93ft East gig! Performing at Shortwave as part of a series of
UK gigs to support their album release, the band promise 'seven or
eight of us, horns, lapsteel, vibraphone and more'.

"Pop music should be like this all the time."

Ensuring a smooth transition from audio to visual and back again will
be resident DJ Rob Wray and DJ Dan Frampton (Hybridity) playing funk,
disco, soul, abstract dub beats, minimal drum'n bass and even (gasp!)
      a touch of house.
