      >Welcome home. I also found Gunther's work revelatory, almost has a
legendary aura, perhaps cause its so difficult to find. On the subject I
have to recommend the Noton CD Final Ballet by M. Behrens which was
produced with assistance from BG. Some tracks are more "up front" (by
the standards of this microgenre) but some amazing textures. Noton in
general are excellent and the Polyfoto CD/book mentioned in last Wire
are well worth getting hold of - definitely available from Kompakt in
Cologne and almost certainly Berlin's "Hard Wax". These styles do force
open new mental/sonic pathways and could well cause structural
changes/new attitudes so all the better.

not all of bg's work has the same effect though
impossible grey (on metamkine) is more in line
with hunger inducing minimalism (tony conrad/
coil's timemachines) than the sort of wonderful
thing's i wanted to try and highlight.
battery ending on the seymour/van hoen album
for ashinternational has a similar post-listening
effect for me though relatively benign
