- Jul 9, 2018PRESS RELEASE from Peter DowThe censorship of below-the-line comments of the Herald online is oppressive.Comments I post on Herald stories either under my own name or using a pseudonym are quickly DELETED.Therefore it is safer for our Scottish polity if we simply assume that any politician or journalist writing for the Herald - whether still in office like Derek MacKay or not now in office, like Kenny MacAskill - is UNACCOUNTABLE in that newspaper for anything they write. What the Herald print could be inaccurate, misleading, illogical, reckless - the online readership can't decide for themselves because comments like mine which expose the truth of the matter in hand are being systematically deleted in a robotic fashion.FOR EXAMPLE

IN June, the Scottish Parliament unanimously agreed to the new National Performance Framework. It is a document ...COMMENTS WHICH WERE REPEATEDLY DELETED@Neil Smith

I FOUND Ivan McKee’s article (The people of an independent Scotland make the decision on a new currency, June 25...From my point of view, I CANNOT respect Wilson's crazy recommendation of a basket-case independent Scotland with no central bank and no power to borrow from its central bank and consequently with no guaranteed way to fund its fiscal deficit.
Central banks controlled by governments are key institutions which make governments more powerful in a world of global capitalism.
Wilson's crazy plan for "no central bank borrowing powers" would leave an independent Scotland VERY WEAK AND PATHETICALLY BEGGING to the commercial banks for commercial loans to fund its fiscal deficit.
Wilson's stupid plan offers no guaranteed way to fund the fiscal deficit and therefore there would be a real risk that government balanced books would be required which would threaten a severe and escalating RECESSION.
I am a strong supporter of Scottish independence but that requires a good plan to fund the fiscal deficit -
EITHER
* a new Scottish currency and central bank
OR
* a currency union deal which includes macro-economic borrowing powers for the Scottish government from the central bank, which would be the Bank of England in the case of a Pound Sterling currency union deal.----------------The Nicola Sturgeon Personality Cult (NSPC bad) are shutting down discussion of the so-called "Growth" (actually RECESSION) Commission Report by reporting comments here to get them deleted by the censor bots.
The Cult doesn't do "discussion" with ordinary party members or members of the public. They do media appearances with 5 year olds playing with toys.COMMENTS WHICH WERE REPEATEDLY DELETEDKenny MacAskill: Gordon Brown is a figure to be pitied as much as censured
SYMPATHY isn’t the prevailing sentiment within the nationalist community towards Gordon Brown, it’s more often h...It is common knowledge that Kenny MacAskill was Salmond's justice secretary from 17 May 2007 to 21 November 2014 and he appointed Vic Emery as the Chair of the Scottish Police Authority who then appointed Sir Stephen House as Chief Constable.
Salmond, MacAskill, Emery and House were responsible for policing BBC premises in Scotland and public servicing broadcasting in Scotland - responsible for policing BBC unionist bias and censorship of the best pro-independence commentators and the rigging of political coverage generally.
The alternative would be to have a Justice Minister and Chair of the SPA and Chief Constable who would support pro-independence protesters who OCCUPIED BBC premises in Scotland to press our case for and to win home rule of broadcasting and the establishment of a Scottish Broadcasting Corporation BEFORE the independence campaign. There was also censorship of YES campaigners online by the police and courts- at least one case of a YES campaigner in Aberdeen who was arrested and banned from using social media in the weeks before the indy-ref. The evidence of that court case was reported in the media and on this blog.Peter Dow's political defence blog
