  • EZ-Face: Making multiple face recognition - easy! I wanted to share with the community a new open source project. I call it EZ-Face. It performs face recognition for multiple faces and provides a trainable interface to train new faces. It is designed to work with 3 rd party application like EZ-Robot’s EZ-Builder application. It can send and receive variables via TCP/IP...

  • Mohammad, that is very impressive! That is one of the coolest demonstrations of a balancing robot I have seen in a long time. Very good work! Both are great, but I liked the two wheeled bot the best. Did it use Stepper motors like the one on the globe? Do you have plans of your design posted online? I'm sure others would love to see how to your built and programmed it. --- In...

  • I have not run across anyone that has done a breakdown on Tekno. But I did run across this site that might interest you: http://www.nyu.edu/projects/xdesign/feralrobots/ It looks like a couple of people there have hacked the Tekno dog. For the stripped screws, have you tried using a flat head jeweler's screwdriver? I have luck with those for small stripped Phillips head screws...

  • Hey Des, I remember you. Are you still tinkering with robots? Working on any new projects, robotics or otherwise? -Justin --- In theroboticsclub@^$1, destroy804 wrote: > > Just wanted to say hi to everyone and see who is still around that may remember who I am... Its been a long time. >

  • Hi Al, Are you looking to turn this into a robot or something to ride on? The reason why I ask is I can think of different approaches based on what you are looking todo. The motors are 24 volt, correct? It has 2 22NF 12 batteries, right? Those are heavy duty. If you must replace the controller I would suggest you take a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2oVG7eC2HM...

  • I've been reflecting on the TRCY Robot Fights of many years ago, circa 1999. To my knowledge our little contest may have been the first autonomous fighting robot contest. This coming year it will be the 15th anniversary of TRCY and the 14th anniversary of the TRCY autonomous robot fights. I've been thinking it would be awesome to start a new contest. I have a few thoughts on what...

  • You are not your robot. I think this is an interesting commentary from: http://sstephenson.us/posts/you-are-not-your-code "I have learned that in the open-source world, you are not your code. A critique of your project is not tantamount to a personal attack. An alternative take on the problem your software solves is not hostile or divisive. It is simply the result of a regenerative...
