Group Description

GROWTH is the problem.

Most of Santa Rosa's problems are the product of continuous urban growth since 1970--for the private profit of the local economic, political, and social establishment. The City has never been able to afford and provide the fresh water, sewage and solid waste disposal, transportation network, and basic public services to support that growth.

"Smart Growth", and "Green" growth, are just MORE growth. Santa Rosa can't grow its way out of the problems that growth itself created. Our only hope is to limit future growth, and make the most of what we already have.

The Real Santa Rosa is a forum and educational resource for the independent citizens who are its members. TRSR is for the citizens, taxpayers, and voters who believe that our city and county belong to ALL the people who live and work here--not just to the elite insiders who own and run them now. Together, we are The REAL Santa Rosa.

Open-minded citizens who don't like the way the current establishment runs Santa Rosa and Sonoma County are welcome to join TRSR. When applying for membership, please identify yourself, and provide a brief statement of your residence and dissatisfaction with the current conditions (for example, "I'm _____, I live in Santa Rosa, and I think City government sucks!").
