- The Madras Federation Bulletin in the post is interesting. The Federation has described how the members can get their ballots and the voting procedure and deadlines. Also it tells members whom to contact by fax, phone or email if they did not receive their ballots timely. Kudos to Indian Section for being pro-active so that every member eligible to vote gets their ballot and exercise their vote.
Many Sections in the West, including American Section, do not keep their members informed like what Madras Federation has done. One wonders why this is so and what is the benefit to TS or its members.
In this day and age, when many in the East are looking to the organizational practices of the West, I hope the Indian Section does not copy the opaque way of doing things we see in the West. Yet again this shows that there are things in the West that need fixing and its leaders may learn something from the East!
- The details were available in a spreadsheet and could have been distributed very easily with a few clicks of mouse. It looks like business at Adyar is going to be as usual with no change.Take for example, the nomination details and election results belatedly gets published in theTheosophist. Very few members have access to it. Nor is it easily available in electronic form. The intent is very obvious. Make it difficult for members to know the details. But for Internet we will all continue to be in perpetual silence with a few crumbs thrown.MKR
- The statement coming from a long time member and worker at Adyar need to be taken seriously. Surely Harihara Raghavan is a high member of all unrelated-related TS entities and it is hoped that traditional circling of wagons approach is not adopted in this case by the leadership. We hope quick transparent action is initiated to get to the bottom of the issues alleged.
Now that Radhaji is no longer there, continued problems at worker level at Adyar can only snowball into more serious problems that cannot be easily handled through delegation or remote management.
Those who have lived and worked in India know that worker issues can become very serious and can easily get out of control and possibly bring in intervention by the local government officials and this can complicate matters further and also bring unneeded bad publicity to TS.MKROn Wed, Jun 4, 2014 at 9:27 AM, '.:.MKR777' mkr777@... - After witnessing the handling of the election one wonders what is going on. The leadership and the GC should move quickly to fix any real problems transparently. Continuing the now famous silence policy launched during election will not make the issues go away. Any problems that come up must be addressed transparently and quickly so the TS is not bogged down with unresolved questions. Let us take care of the physical world before we try to deal with unseen world. My 0.02.MKROn Mon, Jun 23, 2014 at 3:28 PM, '.:.MKR777' mkr777@... [theos-talk] <email@example.com> wrote:
