Louise Brooks plays an attractive French gold digger in this comedy from 1928 directed by Howard Hawks. Two sailor pals, Salami and Spike, have traveled the world in search of women, adventure and more women. When Spike falls for Marie (Brooks) and proposes marriage, the pals' friendship becomes strained. Salami tries to convince Spike that Marie is just another notch on the bedpost, and the hijinx ensues.ÊIt was because of this film that Brooks was later chosen for her famous role as Lulu in "Pandora's Box" where she would make cinema history.
