OPINIONS / ARTICLES: We want to be heard - children (SWAZILAND)
- CHILDREN have raised a concern that the media in the country always omits their voices in stories that touch their lives. They claim most of the stories were negative, sad and about violence. This transpired during a study by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Swaziland, where children were interviewed on how they viewed media portrayal of themselves.
MISA, in partnership with Save the Children, conducted a training for journalists from different media houses on child reporting last Saturday. MISA conducted a follow up discussion with a focus on child rights.
