Nate, sorry for the delayed response, I stop in here rather

--- In thelema93-l@yahoogroups.com, "Tainted Whopper"
<<I understand what you are saying as far as the Cabala of nine
attention to that particular method and I think that when I did
certain correspondances between the cards were revealed.>>

You and many other Cabalists and Thelemites too often miss the
importance of the AIQ BKR in the Cabalistic schema (the Hebrew
letters AIQ BKR add to 333 BTW, Crowley's freak-out over
Choronzon=333 notwithstanding :/). This AIQ BKR is the Key to
the "Paste the sheets" conundrum of Liber Legis. In this is revealed
one of the prime "proofs" or valuations of the the "Order & Value of
the English Alphabet", and it leaves the so-called NAEQ out in the
cold. But again, I digress, which is all to easy when working the
Cabala.

<< I typically use an A.E. Waite deck and I noticed also that there
are much similarities between his card of the Devil and The Lovers.
So through the Cabala of the nine chambers it would show letter
number 7, Zayin, to be the formative representation of the creative
letter number 16, Ayin, whose Gematria value is number 70, with the
final Nun, 700, being death as the archetypical 7, therefore 777
would be Death Nun final (700) + The Devil Ayin (70) plus The Lovers
Zayin (7) = 777, also the course of the flaming sword on the tree of
life. So, it could be said that the flaming sword is equal to Death,
The Devil, and the Lovers.>>

Yes. You have definitely gotten the idea. Keep in mind that as with
the "Kether is in Malkuth" truism, the Archetypal or Atziluthic can
be viewed as 7 or Netzach and the Formative or Yetziratic as 700 or
Nun final - the "second death" so-to-speak. They are very
interchangeable. The example I gave of 358 should be viewed this way
too, with it's Archetypal 8 = Hod/Mercury/Thoth/Hermes
teacher/messenger connotations, Briatic 50 = Death/Rebirth and the
Yetziratic 300 = The Tau Cross ... I'm sure you see now how these
can be flip-flopped in this fashion. We don't consider Atziluth or
the material in the AIQ BKR since that is the point of view of
the "seer".

<<Also, it seems that when using this schema the archetypical number
has two zeroes following it, the creative one zero, and the
formative no zeros. (700 archetypical, 70 creative, 7 formative, as
an example.) Would this be because 700 has two zeroes after it,
showing its potential two hold two more levels of seven?>>

Sure. Especially if such an idea holds meaning for you. We can also
view the three places as reflective of the ineffable triad of the
Ain Soph Aur - as the higher source of ALL. But again, you should
also grow comfortable in reversing the formula as the Archetypal
being 7 and thus Netzach, get it?

<<One thing that is confusing me is that the letter Q, 100, who's
card is The Moon, would be Kether in the archetypical if using this
schema. If Kether is the first sephiroth that is the manifestation
of light, how can it be said to be the moon? Is it that it is
receiving the infinite light of Ain Soph, and reflecting it through
the trinity?>>

Yes, exactly. Also the Moon as the Lord of Flux and Reflux alludes
to Kether as the source of the emanation of all the Sephiroth.
Again, once you become comfortable reversing the formula, it begins
to make more sense. For instance 111 = 1 as Kether, 10 as Yod The
Hermit and 100 as Qoph The Moon.

<<The concept of writing a ritual based on gematria... You mentioned
358 as an example. We could look at the correspondances in Liber 777
and then find colors, magickal weapons, and other data to construct
this ritual. Hypothetically, we could take the data of column XLV in
the table of correspondances (magical powers in western mysticism)
and see that 300 as fire is the power of evocation and pyromancy, as
spirit it is the power of invisibility, transformations, and the
vision of genius, 50 the power of necromancy, 8 the power of
enchantment, etc, and base rituals on these principles. Is this what
you mean when you say that we can use the number 358 to divise a
ritual based on the Messiah or the Serpent?>>

Absolutely! Besides these more arcane associations (which Crowley
himself admitted were suggestive at best), there are the obvious
Cabalistic magickal images, symbols, God Names, invocations, colors
and even incense of the Sephiroth and Paths associated with these
numbers.

> Thank you for the insight.

Thank you! You received it well, which made the effort well worth my
while. Hopefully others may benefit from this crumb of arcana as
well.

Skhau!

Perseverando
