I assume he is refering to primitive Christian practice of the Mass of the
Catechumens where the uninitiated would be led out prior to the
Consecration, where the socalled Mass of the Faithful began. This would
take place in the Gnostic Mass (Liber 15) at the end of the Collects and
prior to beginning point VI. Historically they were seated in the back and
could be led out by the sub Deacon. This could easily be done for those who
had not beforehand consented to take communion. Cf.
