RE: [thegreatthirdrail] Scavaging on the CA&E?
- The wording used by the CA&E ("DANGER ELECTRIC CURRENT KEEP OFF TRACKS") was probably unique to the CA&E. However, signs for the same purpose with different wording or symbols are used anywhere a person might be tempted to get into the tracks, such as around stations as well as at the 20 remaining public vehicle grade crossings on CTA.

. . . As for the Danger Electric Current sign, is there anywhere on the CTA where these are still used? What Im asking, of course, is whether there are any grade crossings requiring such signs and, if so, where? I dont recall seeing these myself when I was living in the area, but then again Ive not seen the entire system.
