Fox River Trolley Fest
- With all the hoopla surrounding the CA&E additions out at IRM, it's easy to forget that the Fox River Trolley Museum also benefited from the LSE museum sale, getting both a CA&E 450 series car, and returning one of the few remaining Fox River cars back to home rails.
This weekend, Aug 21/22, the Fox River Trolley Museum is expecting to operate AE&FRE 304 for it's first public operations as part of it's annual TrolleyFest. Operation today (Saturday) could be a bit iffy due to the rain, but I'm sure they'll operate the car as much as is possible.
The museum has been working on restoring and upgrading the interior, while the car still wears it's Shaker Hts colors. (Planned for repaint in the near future, just not yet)
This is a rare opportunity to ride a Fox River car (First time it's been possible in Illinois in well over 20 years), even rarer opportunity to ride it on "home rails" (70+ years !)
Don't miss out !
