Epsilon Eridani has a proper name, Sadira; which apparently is derived from the Arabic for  "the returning ostriches" or  "ostrich running from water"  or the Persian for "lotus bud."

It's been identified as the sun of Mr. Spock's homeworld of Vulcan in "Star Trek"; others say it's Omicron-2 Eridani (aka 40 Eridani or Keid).
~~ This is fascinating.  And a google for "spock & ostrich" actually yields a page from a comic book:

"Kirk tells Prince Yano that they should retreat. The Prince refuses, and many of his troops are killed in battle with the Emperor. Just as Bavoda and his troops are about to kill them, Spock and Scotty arrive, riding orange ostriches. Spock tosses Kirk a phaser, and they quickly defeat the Emperor's forces. "

From Diana's reference Epsilon Eridani would be closer the heliocentric nodes for Mercury than Mars, although the character of Spock might have merged these pretty well.

Leonard Nimoy was born March 26 1931 in Boston, MA, both Khaldea.com and Astrotheme quote 8:30 am EST birthtime with Gemini rising.  Epsilon Eridani would be about 2+ degrees off his Sun/Moon midpoint.
