      there is a nice collection of links to images of Syriac manuscripts, including some Syriac copies of the Gospels and other portions of the NT. Some links are also given to articles about various pieces of Syriac materials.

      One of the Syriac manuscripts is described as a palimpsest in which a Syriac text is overwritten on a *sixth-century* Armenian MS. I don't know what text the Armenian MS has, but, wow, that's pretty old for Armenian! The image-link goes to

      There's also a link to Dawkins 40, a medieval manuscript which is supposed to contain a hymn that echoes wording from an Old Syriac text. It might be worthwhile for someone (P. J. Williams, do you have time for this?) who knows Syriac to translate that hymn, or at least to identify what passages are utilized, and what variants are supported.
