It is no surprise that NT allusions and citations could work their way back into the LXX. It seems to be a likely source of the extra Cainan in Luke 3:36.

It is no surprise that NT allusions and citations could work their way back into the LXX. It seems to be a likely source of the extra Cainan in Luke 3:36. These corpora, after all, were sometimes bound in a single volume, or at the least often sat on the same shelf of a library. But it is a very curious thing that the Greek OT of the Christians should have influenced the Hebrew OT of the Jews. Yet there seems to be evidence of such in Psalm 14:3bcdefghi and 145:13b.

This is a very rare situation at any event, and it would probably be worth looking into the individual medieval Hebrew mss that demonstrate it.
