Hi, I just joined in. I'm Ian. I became interested in Tesla's works
very recently. If what i read about his achievments are as
described, I'm nothing less than astonished and bewildered! So
silent, but monstrous in invention! I ask if you know any site (sort
of those sites not easily found by search engines),suggest books or
name some specialised forums.... somewhere where I can learn more
about this great man! It's an apetite I can't contain. I'm very
curious!!!! Anything will do. I didn't hear much of him, neither at
school as I read here. only as a mere unit of magnetic field
intensity 'T'! A spark of curiosity arose when I was reading about a
tachyon field and somehow Tesla coils took center stage for a
moment. Since I didn't know much about him, I said to myself 'what
are these tesla coils?! never heard of them and neither so much of
Tesla also. better find out more...' and now i'm
      speechless...figuratively speaking :)

Thnaks for any asistance and help,
      Ian G.

No good recommendations here, only a comment. What
deceives many looking at tesla coils is the rate of
energy expediture as "INPUT", and the expressions
that later occur as "output". If we can "bundle up
energy", and then make that same energy express itself
in a smaller time interval, indeed the wattage in time
periods of expression appears greater on the output
then does the input, but that is only for the smaller
time samplings involved. When everything over time is
averaged out, no strange violations of laws seem to be
self evident. This is the "status quo" opinion.

The man "Tesla" himself was also a great dreamer of
things, and the best place to start is reading some
biographies, some of which are entirely scientifically
innacurrate. Tesla was a financial failure in life,
but he was also only a person, bound to return to the
future again to make things right. So much fascination
exists regarding Tesla, that other people also hold
his dream in high regard. In a nutshell, every
          phenomenon regarding "electrical resonance" is
permissible as saying that "idea" came from Tesla. One
of these great ideas is terrestrial resonance and
whether that is possible. Perhaps we could call that a
          never ending quest...

          Sincerely HDN
