      reasons.

      Now it is said that magnifier schemes, where this is refered to as
      the extra coil, it is permissable to use a lower Ht/diam. coil
      geometry of only 1.5/1, vs the usual use of 3/1 and upwards for
      conventional primary/secondary tesla coils. We also know that
      Wheelers equation can yeild two different solutions for the same
      length of wire, and also the same spacing between wires. For the 1.5
      ratio coil, the equivalent length of wire can make a ring a little
      over three times the coils diameter, and 3 times less ht as the
      alternative solution giving equal inductance by equation. We can also
      conclude however since the outer coil has three times less winds, it
      has three times more internal capacitance expressed as voltage
      between winds, expressed as the no of turns divided by the impressed
      voltage. Hence although the coil /ring relationship may contain equal
      inductances, they will act differently in their natural resonant
      frequency.

      Now since we know that single layered solenoids of large h/d ratio
      closely follow the quarter wavelength, it only stands to reason since
      adding capacity as a sphere reduces that frequency, the same effect
      will occur on the ring coil, which having 3 times more interwinding
      capacitance will have a theorized 3 fold reduction in its resonant
      frequency.(compared to the inner coil) In this analogy the magnifier
      secondary is the ring coil, and the interior coil the extra, which by
      these considerations means that the interior coil will vibrate three
      times as fast as the outer secondary. Hence it is somewhat mysterious
      how Tesla deduced this to be obvious, without using the dual
      inductance comparison, to determine the differences of vibration.
      Thus the secondary is tuned in the conventional manner using 1/4
      quarter wavelength, but in the interior of the large shaped ring,
      only the coils at 3/4 wavelength of the vibration respond through
      space, where this is exclusively a grounded power transfer, and not
      one made by typical line connection schemes to secondary also used as
      magnifier systems. HDN
