QOTW: "[L]earning Emacs to check TCL style is a bit like
learning to play the piano because your stereo's broke..."
      -- Ed Suominen

"The panedwindow is a container widget. Thus has it been
      spoken ..." -- Jeff Hobbs

POTW: Nagelfar 1.0b1 and Eskil 2.0 by Peter Spjuth. "Nagelfar is a syntax
checker for Tcl, written in Tcl." "Eskil is a diff GUI, rather simliar to
TkDiff." Among other nice features, Eskil highlights changes within a
line, and has a "zoom" feature for long lines (because side-by-side source
      panes aren't very wide).

[interp alias] doesn't work across threads, so how do you
      get procs into other threads?

Several suggestions for highlighting a canvas region, e.g.,
to indicate legal moves on a game board:

Parsing C/C++ comments is so fraught with special cases
that it is best left to specialized tools like cpp:

Yet another exhaustive discussion of exec and quoting,
this time specifically in the context of Win 2K and XP:

Controlling how panedwindows behave when the window
is resized, and a discussion of whether they are geometry
      managers or not:

A lively discussion of TIP #169: Add Slave Text Widgets.
Of course, the text editor community is very interested:

One result is the decision to call them "peers", not "slaves":
