      TCers --
Punctuation included in Ws (the secondary scribe who wrote a substitute
quire for John 1:1 to John 5:11- in Codex Washingtonianus) might add a new
dimension to intrpretation of John 3:25. The dots following IWANNOU and
KAQARISMOU in the manuscript are raised to mid-line. The manuscript spacing
is preserved. The initial Is of IWANNOU and IOUDEOU and IWANNHN have
diereses over them. Here are lines 12-14, page 122 of Codex
      Washingtonianus, The Freer Gospels:

      EGENETOOUNZHTHSISEKTWNMAQHTWN
      IWANNOU . METAIOUDEOUPERIKAQA
      RISMOU . KAIHLQANPROSTONIWANNHN

Is the mid-verse punctuation break present in other witnesses? Tischendorf
gives no evidence of such a break in Sinaiticus or Vaticanus.

      J. Bruce Prior in Blaine, Washington, USA
