Of special interest for members might be Thomas Osborne's, 'Conflit des cultes dans l'Apocalypse de Jean' in this volume.

His thesis involves an intensity of reaction, on the part of the author of Revelation, to the historical event of the destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem -- unlike anything, to be sure, that is found in the Gospels. On the other hand, it is what one would expect a Jewish, even a Jewish Christian reaction to that event to look like, and it therefore calls into question a too facile assigning of the Synoptic Gospels to a post-70 date.

PS In the past five years or so I have translated a number of articles by Osborne for the English edition of the BDV, the Bulletin Dei Verbum, published by the Catholic Biblical Federation, out of Stuttgart, Germany.
