Leonard notes that Bruce W. Winter, in Philo and Paul
among the Sophists (2nd edition, 2002, original 1997),
      p. 245, writes:

"If there was any relationship between Gnosticism and
the Philonic corpus, it has been argued that it was in
terms of the latter borrowing from the former."

Leonard then asks "[D]oes he say what he intends to
say? I think he says quite the opposite."

Jeffery Hodges suggests: Assuming that Winter is not
positing a pre-Philonic Gnosticism, then the error
probably occurred because he slipped from thinking in
terms of his sentence structure to thinking in terms
of chronology, Gnosticism being later than Philo.
