Mon, 09 Sep 2002, on Xtalk, Robert M. Schacht asked about David
Laird Dungan's "A History of the Synoptic Problem" (1999, Anchor
Bible Reference Library), quoting its review by Robert J. Miller in the
      August Bible Review.

Some references of other reviews have been given about that book :

      (a review by Mark Matson)

The general tune is positive for the first part, which considers
the early centuries criticism. The assesments on the following
parts are much more reserved or negative, seeing often preconceived
      and far-fetched demonstration.
The focus on economic and politic purposes in modern critic (for
instance connexion of Tubingen with Bismark agenda) is considered
as a good point by some reviews, but denounced by others as oriented
      and exaggerated.
