Even if you are right that this pattern is not found in Matt 1:21, 23, I find
it strange to describe as a "pattern" what occurs exactly once. I think it
would be quite possible to find something unique about each of the Matthean
citations, which could then, following this logic, be dismissed as not
original because not Matthean style.
