According to Doeve LXX-al order is not limited to Matthew.

Jan Willem Doeve, Jewish hermeneutics in the Synoptic Gospels and Acts
      (Assen : Van Gorcum, 1954)

I think Rev. Brian Wilson is going to love this material since it helps to
form a coherent thesis of disjointed Hebrew notes.

      J. W. Doeve’s theory has it that the order or sequence of synoptic material
is the result of the early Christians writing their references to Christ as
apostils, admarginations or glosses in the margins of the OT scrolls. These
could have been as intricate as those of the fourteenth century exegete
Nicholas of Lyra which were commentaries that ran around the text encircling
it. The phrase post illa verba was corrupted into postil or apostil, hence,
postillae. Their research into the OT produced derashic texts so-called
from the word deras meaning research. Accordingly, the Evangelists
presented their material in the order of the OT texts in the LXX.
