Group Description

Moderated(posts subject to approval.)A particular approach(nonviolent communication - NVC) to communication skills, win/win dispute resolution, speaking & listening ways that increase chances of inspiring compassion from others and your ability to respond compassionately.

Activities based on NVC principles and training of The Center For Nonviolent Communication(CNVC.) The moderator is a trainer of CNVC, many members trained with CNVC -- but group has no official affiliation with CNVC; views expressed are the participants'.

You're invited to bring conflicts here(both parties, or one) and get help from other members in resolving these using NVC's approach.

I ask before joining you be familiar with and committed to the NVC approach(see www.cnvc.org)and style, have read the entire book "Nonviolent Communications: A Language of Compassion" by Marshall B. Rosenberg, and complete exercises in the book. If you're "just looking" this may not be the group for you. I ask you try to follow NVC's principles in your postings here, and keep postings under 500 words. (Important examples: I request when posting you try to make clear specifically what sort of response you might like and from who. Members agree to refrain from making judgements, evaluations, and diagnoses in posting {not even "positive" evaluations such as "you're very compassionate"} or of other persons or groups under discussion -- and instead follow the NVC suggestion of stating what you're observing that leads you to your evaluation and what needs of yours are 'on-the-table.')

This isn't primarily for discussions about pros-&-cons of NVC, theories of relationships, conflict, education, etc.(We have a second forum, PonderingNVC, for that.)

It's about supporting each other in using and practicing nonviolent communication and the forms suggested by it.

If these conditions don't suit you please let me help you find a group that better suits your needs.
