Date: Monday, May 31, 2010, 1:52 PMThe weather couldn't have been more perfect for a Memorial Day weekend. Not blazing hot, and just enough breeze to keep us comfortable. We met at the boat launch on Blackburn Point Rd and launched at 9:30. First we went south and into Oscar Sherer State Park via South Creek. We took a short break, then headed back out of the park and went North along the Casey Key shore up to Midnight Pass. The gulf was warm but still refreshing and we had a long soak before leaving at about 1:30 to head back to the launch. Lunch at Aqua was a perfect ending. (Thanks Chef Troy! :-)I goofed on my pictures...I didn't realize that my camera was set for movie mode, so all of the pictures of the paddlers on South Creek are short little movie clips, including the inside of my boat! If you're prone to sea-sickness, the quick pans and turning Betty on her head might bother you! However, the good thing is that I think I will be taking more movies, as I realized it would have been pretty cool if I'd just left it on. I'm just not in the habit of movie taking.Anyway, it was a fun day and a great bunch of people. We made some new friends: Rich from Tampa, Dori from Naples, and Lynne & Russ from Orlando. Nice having you with us!Kayne
