Group Description

This SWBUG group exists for owners and prospective owners/users in the southwest states of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, California, and Utah and the northern Mexican States of Baja Cal, Sonora, and western Chihuahua the Buddipole and its offspring, the Buddistick- both commercial and homebrew versions. We will assist you with any request for information you have and invite you to join us in this down-home style group of Hams who are working with the latest designs of portable antenna systems in the ham radio world. We primarily would like to discuss regional or site-specific BP get-togethers (possibly at hamfests) for tips on how best to erect and use a Buddipole or Buddistick for DX, NVIS, and ARES/RACES including demonstrations tailored to the SW region. With enough members, we can arrange personal on-site assistance with setting up your Buddipole system to reach out and touch the world.

The light-weight compactable backpackable Buddipole system is easily the most flexible and effective portable antenna in the world, is capable of being configured from 160m up thru UHF and beyond. BP knows no limits and experimentation with this "Lego" antenna has not yet found its bounds.

SWBUG is YOUR group and all suggestions and contributions at this embryonic stage are welcome.

We've set the SWBUG for required subscription approval and moderated messages to prevent spam. We'll approve you shortly. Please sign your messages with name, location, and call sign if you have one (persons not yet licensed are very welcome!).

For more technical details, please see the main BUG at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Buddipole/ .
