SVWA Event : A storytelling playshop to develop early expressive skills and raise a confident child - 4 Sundays (9/14, 10/12, 11/9, 12/7)
What does Einstein, Shakespeare, and Steve Jobs have in common? They are all great communicators with good expressive skills.
To develop early expressive skills for children, we have put together a storytelling playshop. The goal of this program is to use storytelling as a tool to develop children's expressive abilities and stimulate their imagination and creativity with a combination of literary, visual and performing arts activities. In this program, children will listen to stories, and retell, rewrite and illustrate their own versions of stories. They will showcase their works online and through a live finale event.
The program leader, Pauline Young, is a professional communication trainer with over 10 years of industry experience in communications and training. She is a published author and an accomplished storyteller with 15 years of experience telling diverse stories to international audiences. Her first book, "Socks Heaven", was published in 2004. Pauline was featured in the 2005 and 2006 Telebration, a worldwide annual storytelling concert for grownups.
At the end of the program, the children will:
-- create a 10-12 pages story book as you see in book store.
-- or record a story in CD.
