      Has anyone else made a similar donation of SVG files, especially maps
      and illustrations?

      Jerrold, one issue is the embedding of rdf metadata such as copyright. these images could easily have had the attribution in the svg. like this:

        unfortunately it then doesn't validate for svg or rdf, but that's
        another story.

        doesn't yet have this metadata

        almost every svg on the peepo websites is public domain.
