      when looking at ..

      <?xml version="1.0"?>
      <svg width="250" height="250">
      <g transform="scale(1 10)">
      <rect x="10" y="2" width="200" height="20"
      style="stroke:black;fill:none" />

      .. the horizontal lines are ten times as thick as the vertical lines.
      Is there a way with svg to suppress the scaling of the stroke-width?
      CAD-systems usually do transform distances and coordinates but not
      the width of lines according to the rules of technical drawings.

      Am i missing something here or is this effect intented by the svg
