- Hi Michelle,Welcome to our list.I just happen to research Mackay with a touch of Gunn who I believe were related or maybe friends. The line of Mackay I have been researching for years came from my first husbands parents. His mother was Alexandrina Mackay born Kirtomy Farr, his father was Adam Mackay born Armadale Farr. Adam and his brothers in law signed up for WW1 in 1915, all were wounded more than once and all made it back. They had arrived in Sydney some time before the war began and the Mackays signed up in Liverpool NSW.Adam and Alexandrina (known as Ina) married in Randwick NSW in 1923.I have traced both families back a way. Also have the siblings of both and their descendants. Sister of Adam was Henrietta Amy Mackay and she married James Dunnet from Caithness in Thurso and they emigrated to Sydney Australia.Would be glad to swap notes if you think that this family might connect with the one you research. There is another Mackay Gun connection as well, an offshoot of the Kirtomy Mackays.Do you have a William Mackay m Sophia, There is a Gunn lurking in the descendants of this marriage. Were in Farr then Edinburgh.regardsPaddyJenelle as you would know is otherwise occupied with the Cyclone right now.We all wish her safe journey overnight.
