It wasn't long before we decided to develop and sell a modified variant of the Piper PA-12. With Bill’s 30 years of experience as a pilot, and IA A&P mechanic in Alaska, and my 20 years experience manufacturing aircraft components, we decided to develop our vision of what we consider the ultimate compromise of performance and utility in a back-country aircraft. Many improvements and modifications are based on "historical maintenance and operating issues" of the PA18 (Super Cub)Before we start to detail the design parameters of the Super-12 aircraft, We would like to state that the factors used in determining the design were based on personal preferences, past experiences in servicing and maintaining piper cub type aircraft, as well as modern manufacturing techniques available today.In our development process we are not rushing into production: rather we are building the first five aircraft to identify costs and the proofing of concepts.In our set-up and fabrication of the Super-12 fuselage we are dedicating a lot of personalized attention to detail and our welders are certified to AWS D17.1(Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications). Our assemblies are all TIG welded, not wire feed like some manufacturers use.It is our vision to provide a tough durable back-country aircraft, capable of going most places other designs can, at an affordable price.
