PGI Convention & IPA Work Pass Info
- Hi All,
As you are surely aware of by now, the 2009 PGI Convention will be held again in Mason City. To be eligible to register for convention, you MUST be a current PGI Member by June 1st. If you have not renewed (or ever joined) - now is the time.
PGI first-time Membership Application Forms can be found on the Stumptown web site on the "Documents" page at:
PGI renewal Membership Application Forms can be found on the Stumptown web site on the "Documents" page at:
PGI membership is $85/year for the Primary Membership and $35/year for your spouse/significant other and $35/year for Junior Memberships (kiddies).
Convention Registration is $155 per Primary and Spouse and $60 per child under 18. Camping on-site may be gone (check to make sure) but as of a couple of days ago, there were still some outlying area camping spots and some rooms to be found yet in the area of Mason City & Clear Lake.
Those of us who are also IPA Members already know too that the IPA will be doing the Opening Show (National Anthem, Rockets Red Glare and all that) on both Sunday night and on Friday night under the name "Patriotic Pyros" which is not solely comprised of IPA Members only but open to anyone who wants to throw in money, product, labor or any combination thereof.
The IPA as a club will be doing one of the main opening shows on Sunday evening also. IPA Membership is only $25/year for BOTH the Primary and Spouse/Significant other - a deal only surpassed by STS "membership"!
For IPA Members who would like to help on these shows but will not/cannot attend the full week of convention, the PGI Bard of Directors has granted a request for work passes to cover anyone fitting into this group.
They will allow 8 work passes only - 2 of which have been already taken by the two people who asked me to request these of the Board - leaving 6 to be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.
PLEASE, request a pass to come and work ONLY IF you really will show up. These are being given out as a consideration to the IPA Members who really cannot attend the convention and if you say you want one - plan to be there!
The terms are: you will be there to work only, you must be escorted by an IPA Member designate while on-site and this special pass is for working the IPA Shows ONLY. You will not be allowed to attend seminars/classes/meetings or wander the grounds or vendor areas.
This post is going to the IPA Group site also - contact me off list if you want to take advantage of this work pass program at: mwoodburn@....
