Urgent - BBC New Film Maker Award Closing Date for Submissions -
      Monday 17th July

BBC Three is looking for visually exciting and entertaining films
that will appeal to its young, modern, mainstream audience. If you're
an aspiring director with an original and contemporary short story,
what are you waiting for? Submit your film now and you might just
      reap the many rewards?

The winning film will be considered for a high profile slot on BBC
Three as the Best British Short Film and receive £5,000. Two runners-
up will each receive £2,500. All short-listed films will be broadcast
on the channel, screened at the Brief Encounters Short Film Festival
      and online.

Your film should be no longer than ten minutes. To enter you must be
16 years or over and never had your film commissioned or broadcast on
British TV. Entries close Monday 17th July 2006.

To find out more about the scheme and get details on how to enter,
visit the BBC New Talent Website.
      http://www.bbc.co.uk/newtalent/film/newfilmmakers06/

(Please note that this Award is only open to UK residents)

      [Forward ends]

I hope that the Norma films will all be submitted. There are a lot of
short films made in NI, but until they get broadcast or distributed
they don't really count for much in the industry as a whole. If it's
not listed on the IMDB, it won't be taken seriously abroad.

While I remember, there are some film-related books and cheap DVDs
available on Ebay - to find the collection, go to
http://www.orb-store.com and click on "Current Auctions".

      MTFBWY,
      Bruce
