Group Description

Each year, thousands of individuals and families find themselves without decent and affordable housing with no other option, but to spend their nights sleeping on the streets of St. Louis.
Winter can be especially difficult, as shelter beds are scarce, and the weather, a dangerous force. In an effort to prevent any more weather related and senseless deaths, we have organized a volunteer outreach team consisting of service providers, students, pastoral staff and anyone willing to help.
This group hits the streets on winter nights that the temperature drops to 20 degrees or below, in the hopes to keep those left out in the cold as warm and safe as possible.

More about this Group:
On winter nights that the temperature is predicted to drop below 20 degrees:
Volunteer teams will meet from 6:30pm until about 9pm and travel by vehicle to designated sections of St. Louis City, seeking people who are spending the night out on the street.
If there is shelter space available, we will offer transportation to anyone wishing to go.
We will carry blankets and other cold weather items to pass out.

As a volunteer you will not be expected to attend every outing, but when you can, you will be needed!!!

Donations of blankets, socks, warm scarves, knit caps and gloves can be dropped off at MoKaBe's Coffeehouse at 3606 Arsenal 7 days a week between 8am and midnight. Because of limited space only the aforementioned will be accepted.

Cash donations for the purchase of bus tickets, blankets or winter items can be mailed to:

St. Louis Homeless Winter Outreach
3606 Arsenal Street
