Craft Alliance in the Kranzberg Arts Center
Craft Alliance Metals Artist-in-Residence Michael Parrett, a longtime participant of "Burning Man," will host an evening of film and discussion about the annual event in our Gallery and Education Center in the Kranzberg Arts Center. "Burning Man" takes place in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada each summer, an event during which thousands of participants gather to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression and self-reliance. They leave one week later, leaving no trace that the city existed.
On Saturday, January 23, 2010, join us for films, activities and discussion that focus on the art of "Burning Man" here in Grand Center. Bring your own seat and cup, and meet local participants and artists who make Burning Man part of their lives each year. At the end of the event, leave no trace-just as if you are a member of the desert community.
This event is free and open to the public, but contributions are welcome.
