This message is a hoax. There is no virus with no cure. The email you
      sent is the virus.

The text of the message is a combination of some virus hoaxes like this one:

      http://www.europe.f-secure.com/hoaxes/perrin.shtml

Notice how some of the text is word-for-word identical to the virus hoax
      described on that page.

Notice that the virus hoax mentions CNN, Microsoft, and Compaq without any
links. Do you really think that those companies would announce a virus
alert without there being a web page that describes it?

Do you notice that it says "Pass this on QUICKLY AND TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS
POSSIBLE." This is typical of a virus hoax. It's purpose is to get you to
      send pointless emails.

Please do not pass on virus warnings like this unless you know for a fact
that they are correct. Most of them are hoaxes. Really these sorts of
warnings should only be sent by IT staff or list-owners. They are
certainly off-topic for most mailing lists even if they are true.
