Benjamin Franklin's epitaph, written by himself at the age of twenty-two:

      The Body of B. Frankin,
      Printer,
Like the Cover of an Old Book,
      Its Contents Torn Out
      And
Stripped of its Lettering and Gilding,
      Lies Here
      Food for Worms,
But the Work shall not be Lost,
For it Will as He Believed
      Appear Once More
In a New and more Elegant Edition
      Revised and Corrected
      By The Author.

From the book "Reincarnation", edited by Joseph Head and S.L.Cranston.

Pierre, thank you for this somewhat subtlely stated truth. It is another wonderful example of how prescient Franklin was! Sheila On May 27, 2004, at 2:34 PM,
