Updated SP-II Errata Sheet
I’ve updated the errata sheet for the StationPro II, to incorporate a few changes and additions, mostly reflecting the recent firmware upgrades. Also, there are a few assembly hints that clarify potential sources of confusion during assembly. Among the changes:
- At powerup, the SP-II no longer sends “SP” in morse code, in order to free up program space for the latest firmware revisions.
- When the tuneup pulser is turned on, the LCD no longer blanks, but continues to show the selected transceiver and amplifier/ The AMP and TRX LEDs blank instead. Pulser operation is unchanged.
- An improved “hint” is given to facilitate positioning the lockwashers under the remote relay PCB mounting holes.
- Builders are advised to download and read “W8ZR’s Wiring Tips for Builders” before wiring up the microphone jacks. Wiring up these jacks so that the wires are neat and orderly is the most difficult part of the entire assembly process, mostly because of the close spacing of pads on the PCB header and the general difficulty of wiring up 8-pin DIN jacks. Don’t know why manufacturers continue to use the darn jacks.
It was great chatting with many of you at Dayton this year. Many thanks for stopping by!
