I was bothered that the doctor killed her "host", without trying to talk him into letting

her go.  She could have promised to take him with her on board the Orville to another

planet, at least until they could do something about the disease on his planet.

Then, she told her son not to shoot to kill, because we have respect for life.  I thought,

what?  She would say that, after what she did?

It was an interesting episode, though.

[ATA]But bear in mind that that is the gimmick of the show, light humor as if we were watching actual interaction among a crew with humans with colorful pasts. The ideo would be to keep it low and balanced.

[ATA]Perhaps you missed precisely the part in which she asked about letting her go and telling the guy she might be able to find a cure. She talk to him and he didn’t want to hear it.

[ATA]That is what makes the show believable because we might want to uphold some principles but when your own life is at stake the color of the mirror you were looking thru at life, suddenly changes. Because remember she shot the guy because he was to kill her.

I quite like the orville reminds me a little of the subtle humour in tng. Bad news i can only view it online as fox uk do not have it

I agree, I was bothered too that she killed him. He was a scary dude and was keeping her captive but killing him seemed pretty drastic.

Also the boys were something else. Lol. I like her character very much and have been enjoying the show a lot.

I was thinking the same thing; there does seem to be less of the ridiculous humor

each week, and I hope they keep up this direction of the show.

[ATA}Well, Another good episode and no, no phallic  shape star-ship. The series still showing is a good one well done. The conversation between Mercer and Malloy at the end of the episode shows why the show seems so well carried while being a trek-homage. A conversation that was real, with real emotions and words for a non-official conversation.
