      Hi Warren,
My grandmother's mother was Louisa Everton d.o.b 21/7/1871 and I have information that goes back to their descendant's William Everton who married Jane Mason 3/10/1805 (My search on the British Library's web site in the East India Office sector shows their marriage as 3/10/1806!)

I received all this information from the Legal and Land Department office on St Helena. It is hand written and laid out on A5 piece of paper. If you want I can either copy it and send by post or I will try and scan it and send as a word document.

I have been searching far and wide for this with very little success. Any help would be appreciated.

                    Hi Barbara,

My maternal grandmother was Louisa Ophelia Everton (d.o.b 21/7/1871) Her mother was Elizabeth Everton and her father was Edward Roakes (watchmaker)

I have a document from the Land and Legal department, St Helena that shows the Everton Line back to William Everton and Jane Mason M. 3/10/1805.

The information is on hard copy (looks like A5) or I'll try and scan it and send as an attachment.

Thank you for your information; it fills in some of the mystery!

                    David Spreadborough.

I would also love to know any information on Jane Mason and William Everton.   Were they born on the Island?    William’s occupation I understand was a Shopkeeper, if that was him buried on the 6 Sep 1833, making him born in 1779.       William Everton * 10 Sep 1810,  married Sarah Carr, was a Shoemaker, and  John Theodore Everton (* 15 Oct 1842), Thomas (*2 Oct 1814) Everton’s  son was a Saddle maker.     Could the Shoemaker and Saddle maker be related to the military?

Have anyone in their research come across the parents of either Jane Mason or William Everton married on St Helena 3 Oct 1806.

I have been searching far and wide for this with very little success. Any help would be appreciated.

                    Kind Regards
