Write a trigger on table and check if such data exists, throw exception.

      vrk_rajivanetra <vrk_rajivanetra@...> wrote: i have created datatable tab_info as..

      create table tab_info([Date] varchar(12),BatchNo varchar
      (100),DiskName varchar(50),DiskStatus(50),CycleNo (20),OD float,ID
      float,T float)

i have not created any primary key, unique key..

i have data in this format...

      the inserted data as below

Date BatchNo DiskName DiskStatus CycleNo OD ID T

      1/12/2006 B#1 D-1 preform c-1 22 10 8

      1/12/2006 B#1 D-1 preform c-1 22 10 8

      1/12/2006 B#1 D-1 preform c-1 21 10 8

      1/12/2006 B#1 D-1 preform c-1 22 11 8

      1/12/2006 B#1 D-1 preform c-1 20 10 9

      1/12/2006 B#1 D-1 preform c-1 22 10 9

note: the same reading values can be repeated( ie OD ID T)
so if same data is inserted it should not allow or it should throw
      an exception
      to overwrite data(yes/no)...

so how to do this...pl help its urgent..
