I've just be reading through the official election communication of all the
candidates for London mayor that came through my letter box, but who are the
"Independent Working Class Association"? From the programme, I think I can
detect a trot front organisation, but for which group? Incidentally, they
don't seem to be quite as reformist as Respect since they're promising a
minumum wage of only £7.32 an hour as opposed to Respect's £7.40, not that
either of them (or capitalism) would be able to deliver on this.
From another Respect leaflet handed out at the Kingston Green Fair, I see
that Respect are calling for the second vote we all have for Mayor to go to
ex-Red Ken, the official Labour candidate --without illusions, presumably.
Galloway himself was there and visited our stall after we'd heckled him for
listing "the Socialist Party" among the groups that supported Respect.
Unfortunately we'd already sold out of the 100th anniversary issue of the
Standard and so we unable to use it to ram home the point that we'd been
calling ourselves the Socialist Party for a hundred years and that
Militant's attempt to usurp this name was just recent. He did, however, take
the point and went on to say that Respect was supported by the "Militant
      Socialist Party".

AFAIK they're no front, but the direct organisation, descendents of Red
Action, admirers of Sinn Fein, they believe in 'communitarian politics',
        i.e. vigilanteism on council estates.

They have councillors in Islington and Oxford, IIRC.

        They're web address is http://www.iwca.info
