The Knights were made to work hard, particularly for the bonus point, by
an Oxford side who relied almost exclusively on their three heat leaders.

Torrential rain on Sunday, and more early Monday afternoon had created
some doubt as to whether the meeting would go ahead.

A big black cloud headed towards the stadium around an hour before the
scheduled start - thankfully that moved away and the trackstaff duo of
Huggy and Keith Chapman set to work.

In just over an hour they completely removed the wet top surface and
relaid the circuit completely and I'm sure that anyone else who was at
the meeting, like me, can only be amazed at their efforts. In all
probability, at any other British circuit given the conditions and
earlier rain, the meeting would have been off.

On it went though and 21-21 after 7 heats tells its own story.

Oxford were left ruing the decision to track Mark Lemon who clearly was
struggling with the injuries he sustained in the corresponding match at
Oxford. That led to him withdrawing from the meeting after two pointless
      rides.

Heat 8 saw the deadlock broken - Ales Dryml fell - Lynn were on for a 4-2
when Steve Masters seized his engine on the second lap.

Heats 9, 10 & 11 all produced advantages to the Knights - Oxford tactical
moves looked to have given them a chance of salvaging the bonus point but
5-1s from Jason Crump and Leigh Adams (completing another impeccable paid
max) in heats 13&15 ensured all three points for the Knights and top
spot in the Elite League table.
