As the forecast shows the weather going downhill over the next few days, Sunday is likely to be overcast and not as warm as it has been. Consequently, the length of the walk will be nearer to 8 miles rather than the 12 previously mentioned. Nevertheless, the autumn colours are looking great at the moment and it should be a spectacular walk - although not as spectacular as it would be with a drop of sunshine. Lunch will be taken in Westcott where there is a choice of a pub or a cafe.
The walk will start at 10-00 a.m. from Ranmore Common car park (grid reference 142503) and cover the area between Wotton and Dorking. There will be fine views from the North Downs ridge south over the Greensand Hills and the Weald. Be aware that this is not a figure of eight walk as we will be stopping off at Westcott for lunch.

      Directions:

From Dorking - passing Dorking West railway station on your left, proceed up Ranmore Road to the top of the hill. The car park is on the left a few hundred yards further on from the brow of the hill.

From Guildford - Take the A25 heading towards Dorking. Just before you enter the one way system in Dorking, take the left hand turn (which I believe may be signposted A25 to Reigate). A few hundred yards further on, take the left hand fork (which may be signposted to Dorking West station). Passing Dorking West railway station on your left, proceed up Ranmore Road to the top of the hill. The car park is on the left a few hundred yards further on from the brow of the hill.

From M25 - Leave the motorway at junction 9 and follow the road to Dorking. At the traffic lights by Dorking main railway station and just before the railway bridge over the road, take the right hand turn. Go straight on at the next roundabout and then turn right at the T junction onto Ranmore Road. Proceed up Ranmore Road to the top of the hill. The car park is on the left a few hundred yards further on from the brow of the hill.

      Best regards,
