The next SWSW walk will now be on Sunday, 17 November and not the 24th as advertised in the latest newsletter. The walk will start at 10-00 a.m. from Ranmore Common car park (grid reference 142503) and cover the area between Wotton and Dorking. There will be fine views from the North Downs ridge south over the Greensand Hills and the Weald. This will not be a figure of eight walk but we will be stopping off somewhere on the route for lunch. The length of the walk will be somewhere between 8 and 12 miles, which will be determined by the weather conditions - wet and windy weather means a shorter walk!

      Directions:

From Dorking - passing Dorking West railway station on your left, proceed up Ranmore Road to the top of the hill. The car park is on the left a few hundred yards further on from the brow of the hill.

From Guildford - Take the A25 heading towards Dorking. Just before you enter the one way system in Dorking, take the left hand turn (which I believe may be signposted A25 to Reigate). A few hundred yards further on, take the left hand fork (which may be signposted to Dorking West station). Passing Dorking West railway station on your left, proceed up Ranmore Road to the top of the hill. The car park is on the left a few hundred yards further on from the brow of the hill.

From M25 - Leave the motorway at junction 9 and follow the road to Dorking. At the traffic lights by Dorking main railway station and just before the railway bridge over the road, take the right hand turn. Go straight on at the next roundabout and then turn right at the T junction onto Ranmore Road. Proceed up Ranmore Road to the top of the hill. The car park is on the left a few hundred yards further on from the brow of the hill.

      Best regards,
